Tanya Lacey

Tanya Lacey is a 25 year old, british soulful singer. You may not know her as a stand alone artist but do you remember Loick Essiens 'How we Roll'? The song reached No.2 in the UK singles chart which she wrote and also featured on.

Tanya's musical talent varies. She has previously belonged to reggae band whom she toured with and worked with Labrinth when he was unknown and produced songs. She co-wrote Will.I.Am's 'The Hardest Ever' and has recently helped write songs for Stooshe and Cover Drive. Recently she supported Bruno Mars on his 2011 UK tour. Her voice is diverse; she can rap and sing effortlessly.

Her songs have an element of freshness to them, R 'n' B vibes mixed with true emotions combine to make original sounds. Her debut EP, Head Chef, boasts a mixture of catchy sounds. My favourites are...

Tanya's fashion sense is also something to watch out for. Her signature blonde locks with bubblegum pink ends are becoming a trademark. Stylish and eccentric, it is clear her multi-cultural, urban roots have influenced her fashion.

Aqua by Aqua

Aqua by Aqua is a brand to watch out for. It's bold colours, unique aztec patterns and simple cuts make it chic, timeless and sophisticated.
Their range combines minimalistic cuts with a variety of bright shades, perfect if you want to be noticed whilst remaining effortlessly cool.
Most definately well established, it has designer looks at more affordable prices.

My current favourites from the Ladies wear section is the patterned, mint April dress, £150 and the pink, peplum Paris dress at £130.

Their Menswear collection is also something to watch, with their simplistic designs and retro feel any man is sure to want to be seen in it.

T-shirts both £45 each.

With only three stores in total, two in London and one in Leeds it is quite exclusive, but their collection is available on their website, www.aquabyaqua.com and ASOS for those of you who don't live near either cities.

Festive Fashion

Christmas is definately one of the best times of year for Fashion. It's all about feeling glamourous and looking your best at the various social occassions you are attending. Elegance is important to remain glamourous, so who better to channel than Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn. The 1950's was an era of beautiful, charasmatic women who remain fashion icons to this day. Which is why when considering Christmas fashions it is important to have a sophisticated charisma about you.

So many high street dresses are channeling 1920s-1950s style this season but these three are my favourite.

Sequins are perfect for the season but too many can look slightly common, a characteristic you don't want when it is the time to shine. Stay wary and keep the sequins demure, for example I own a black sequinned shift dress from Topshop which I believe looks very elegant teamed with simple heels and a matching bag. They also do the dress in silver which would look quite dazzling teamed with black accessories. Sequins only begin to look over done when they are matched with other sequins or multi coloured, so just be careful when planning your outfits.

The 1960's is not an era to forget when it comes to fabulous fashions and this Topshop dress is perfect to channel your inner Twiggy. At £85 it is quite expensive at this time of year but would look amazing with simple accessories and a flick of black eye liner.

Chiffion is a delicate, angelic material which would look quite bewitching this season. Its graceful soft layers suit any shape and look classy without having to try hard. There are many chiffon dresses in the shops at the minute but here are my favourites.

Topshop playsuit £45           New Look £35                        River Island £35

Velvet is a rich, exqusite material which appears often at this time of year. It is easy to wear as the material hangs easily. Often in blacks, purples and blue hues it fits the party season perfectly and looks enticing on those who are wearing it.

Ark £16.99                  Ark £24.99                            Urban Outfitters £65

The high street is full of magnificent dresses right now so there is something to suit every taste, shape, price and size. Festive Fashion is easy, just think glamour!

Tartan up

Like me when you think of tartan do you picture a Scottish kilt? Well if so then it is time to change your vision and get involved in the print that is sweeping the high street.

Tartan was a key trend to emerge from the AW12 London Fashion week and featured heavily on designer Corrie Nielsen's catwalks as well as making an appearance on VivienneWestwoods.
Whilst you may think it hasn't been popular for very long, tartan has actually been around for thousands of years and different tartans used to symbolise different clans in Scotland, who used it to determine their friends and enemies. Royal visits to Scotland from King George IV and later one from Queen Victoria popularised the pattern even more.

So it is no suprise that the designs at this years AW12 were all quite well tailored as if to reflect an aristotic manner. Designs varied from pencil skirts to tailored trousers and would look great for work. Corrie Nielsen was inspired by looking back at her own heritage.
Vivienne Westwood also showcased tailored tartan in her collection, bringing a chic twist to the modern womans wardrobe.

Of course, I won't be able to afford any designer tartan anytime soon, so here are my favourite high street pieces.
H&M 19.99
River Island £30
River Island £55
Topshop £100 for both items. Shorts £32, Blazer £68

Topshop £32

Miss Guided £26.99
Tartan is timeless, so it is definately worth an investment.
