A Wedge of Summer

Snow is still here and Spring is struggling to rid us of the cold, white weather. I for one am not happy about this. We all love a bit of snow but when it’s still here in March it becomes a bit of a nuisance. For me especially, as I am celebrating my 21st this week and it shall be the first time in 21 years I have ever had a white birthday!
My plan is to ignore the snow and start planning my summer wardrobe. I am now on the hunt for vibrant items which will brighten up this wintery time. Finding online fashion websites that I haven’t used before is becoming a little hobby of mine. I can spend hours on end finding new fashion websites and then looking at all their lovely items. Often I add a lot of items to my basket but when it comes to check out I remember I am a student and probably can’t afford all these gorgeous things.

A few weeks ago I came across Bershka. Bershka is a Spanish brand aimed at the younger generation. They have so many different styles to choose from I wanted everything from their ladies section. However, I was actually looking for some pink/coral shoes to wear for my birthday and I happened to come across these beauties.

They are a beautiful pinkish, coral colour and will go perfectly with the dress I’ve bought to wear. I love wedges just because they are so comfortable and always remind me of summer. They are definitely an investment as they will look great in the June/ July/August months, no matter what the weather is like!

Ankle straps are a must have for me when I'm looking for new heels/wedges. My ankles are quite skinny and can sometimes be a little weak, so any extra support is a bonus.

At just £30 they are a bargain!

Bershka’s service was excellent. They dispatched my item immediately, texted and emailed me when my parcel would be delivered and were right on time. I would definitely recommend shopping with Bershka to add something different to your wardrobe.

Lickable

Lipstick is a must have and something I can’t live without. It finishes off your make up nicely and can make or break an outfit. A quick application of red lippy can make any outfit more sophisticated.
My current favourites are my YSL bright pink lipstick and my Topshop Whimsical lipstick.

The YSL lipstick was purchased using some spare Euros in an airport on my way home from my last holiday. Being blonde, I love pink shades of lipstick as I think it compliments my hair and skin tone well.

The Topshop Whimsical is a gorgeous shade. It’s kind of a pastel orange and is a great day time look. It keeps me looking quite natural and isn’t too over the top during the day.

(The picture doesn't do the colour justice but it is a lovely shade!)
There are so many different shades out there which means finding the right shade for you is easy. Mac has a huge variety of shades to choose from. Topshop’s collection of lipsticks is also impressive and very purse friendly.
My YSL is my favourite however I do have a slight obsession with YSL. I once took part in some work experience with them which made me absolutely love the brand and I have ever since.
When applying lipstick I always put some lip balm on first so the colour doesn’t stick too much. My lips are also prone to getting dry which lipstick can sometimes draw attention to but a little balm helps a lot.
What’s you favourite shade of lipstick?

Beyonce for H&M

I am soooo excited for H&M's summer collaboration with Beyonce to arrive. Rihanna' high street collaboration with River Island was amazing so I am sure Beyonce will help create some beautiful summer pieces.

25% of their tie-dye bikini sales will be donated to H&M for water. Not only is it  giving you a piece of Beyonce to put in your wardrobe it's also helping a good cause.

I will definately be making a few purchases... will you?

Lilac Love

Continuing with my Items I cannot live without theme here is my next item... lilac nail varnish!

Lilac is my favourite colour (hence this blog's background) and whenever I paint my nails any other colour it just doesn't feel right.

The colour, I think, just suits me. I know it may sound strange but whenever I paint my nails a different colour such as red I hate looking at my hands.

Lilac and other pastel shades also make me feel summer is on it's way and puts me in a good mood which is an added bonus.

I had a phase of washing my hair with lilac shampoo so it's safe to say I am slightly obsessed. Lilac is such a girly colour so it suits me perfectly.

Currently, I am using a pastel, lilac Barry M shade but there are plenty of brands out there with lovely lilac colours.

I am a big fan of pastels and as they are set to be big in SS13 a slick of nail varnish is the perfect way to incorporate the trend into your style.

What's your favourite shade to paint your nails with?

Hair Necessity

Hello!
Unfortunately, due to being a busy little bee, I haven’t been able to blog in a while! Hopefully I am back on track now though and can post regularly.
So, because I haven’t written anything in a while I thought I’d dedicate my next few posts to items I just can’t live without. We all have things we rely on every day to make us look and feel good about ourselves so I thought why not share mine.
I don’t know about you but I get very bored with my hair always looking the same. I only ever seem to wear it down with layers pinned back (as I’m growing them out) so I constantly try and think of different style. There’s not really that much you can do so it’s either curly or straight.
My Babyliss curling wand is my most favourite way to curl my hair. It heats up extremely quickly and doesn’t take long to create the perfect bouncy curls. They also last ages. I can curl my hair one day and providing it hasn’t become greasy by the next day, I don’t need to do it again.
They are also very simple to use. You do need to wear the glove they provide as they do get hot and you could potentially burn your hand. You simply just put the glove on, select a piece of hair and wrap it around the wand. It is entirely up to you how long you hold it there for. For big curls I’d say about twenty seconds where as a simple wave only needs around five. If you want ringlets you would section your hair into tiny pieces to wrap around the wand but for larger curls I would have a bigger section of hair.
On my pictures I have curled my hair for about ten seconds each as I like it a bit bouncy but not too over the top for day time. I love this look for the day as it shows you have made some effort but haven’t gone too over board. I would definitely recommend purchasing a curling wand if you don’t already have one. I do sometimes curl my hair with my straightners but I find the curling wand achieves much better results.
What’s your favourite way to do your hair?
