Counting Down the Days...

March is always my favourite month. Spring begins, the weather changes, Easter is close and... Oh! It's my birthday as well! This March is different though. Not only am I counting down the days until my 21st (27th of March - any gift accepted) I am incredibly excited for March the 5th for Rihanna's clothing range to land in River Island stores.

Rihannas collection debuted on Saturday at London fashion week and certainly lived up to my expectations.

It had an obvious 90s feel to it with an added edge - thigh split dresses and skirts, body suits, sheer blouses, bright colours and crop tops adorned the catwalk and it was obvious to see Rihannas own taste in the collection.

If you know me then you will know I am a big fan of Rihanna's so I could be slightly biased... but the collection is definately worth a look at.

I'll definately be making a few purchases, will you?

SASS & BIDE - LFW

Sass & Bide's latest collect for AW13 was showcased at London Fashion Week on Friday and all I can do is look on with desire.

The latest collection designed by Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middelton was called Wintergate.

Seen throughout the collection were warm yellow trousers, bags and shoes, futuristic embellishment, structured trousers, tops and jackets and intricately cut shapes.

So far Sass & Bides collection has been one of my favourite from London Fashion week. Metallics, colour and peplum are current trends for SS13 and are here to stay for AW13. My favourite items from their collection have to be the second dress from the left and the last dress on the right. Both are sophisticated, classy and glamorous and would look wonderful in the party season.

Who's your favourite from London Fashion Week AW13?

Sweet Thing

I confess, I have a huge sweet tooth or maybe all my teeth are sweet as that’s the only food I ever fancy!

I try to keep my sweet teeth on a tight rein and not give in to my cravings for sweets and chocolates but sometimes it just gets the better of me. Living a healthy lifestyle is very important which is why I am on a mission to find tasty food that I like which is still full of nutrients.

So lately I've began to think what can I eat when I get these cravings, which are not only sweet but are healthy?

Fruit and Fibre bread is the answer to my sweet needs. Brown bread containing raisins means I'm eating healthy and getting iron that our bodies need. Two slices toasted is perfect for lunch. Not only is it a healthy alternative to eating sweets/chocolate after a sandwich, it has lots of fibre in it to keep you regular.

And why not make it more exciting with a spread of jam and a banana cut up on top. A perfect way to get one of your five a day and fills you up until tea time.

So why not try this and tell me what you think?

Guilty Pleasure

We all have a guilty pleasure don't we. Something we love that we either keep secret or just forget to mention to people. Or maybe, if your like me it's something people don't expect you to like.

Mine is Rap music, specifically DRAKE. I think if you meet me and judge me you'd probably expect me to like pop, girly music. Don't judge a book by it's cover. I have loved Drake for a long time: not only do I love his songs but I also think he is super hot and super cool.

His last album 'Take Care' was amazing, and if you haven't listened to all the songs then you definately need to. I won't give you a full blown review as it was out over a year ago now and I wouldn't want to patronise you with the details - but please listen to it.

Drake's been a little bit quieter as of late on the music front but I am so happy he has released a new song 'Started from the Bottom'.

The video to this song is one of my favourties of Drake's. His personality is obvious in the video which makes it an exciting watch. He seems so excited to be there and looks like he genuinely loves life - it's an infectious attitude.

Drake may not be to everyones taste but I am a huge fan and would definately reccommend a listen.

Hair Therapy

Argania Hair oil is just what you need if your hair is not in the most glorious condition.
I dye my hair blonde which involves bleach, so I obviously expect it to not be in it's natural condition but want to keep it as healthy as I can.
Recently, I have become more conscious of not wanting dry hair and have tried various different products to prevent it. Argania has by far been my favourite: all you need is a small drop onto the palm of your hand and you can really feel the results. I rub it into my hair when its damp about twice a week. You can also do it when it's dry, it's entirely upto you.
My hair feels smoother, thicker and healthier. I have quite thin hair so anything that makes it feel thicker is a bonus for me.
Pick this up at Boots for £14.99 - not a bad considering it will last a while. I have had mine since Christmas and haven't even used a quater yet. Without doubt an investment buy.

Neonic Girl

Even though it's February and STILL snowing (much to my dislike) it's time to look forward and start planning your spring/summer wardrobe. Neon is set to be big in SS13 so why not start shopping now.

Atelier Versace had some beautiful, neon dresses in there recent SS13 couture collection. The high street has took note and is currently full of neon pieces for us to get our hands on.

Recently I purchased the neon cami-crop from Topshop and love it. At £15 it was a bargain as I think it's perfect to wear on an evening out as well as on holiday. I wore it last weekend with a simple black pencil skirt which complimented it well.

Accessories are always important. I teamed my cami-crop with some simple neon triangle earrings (Topshop) and some bright pink lipstick. I love neon clashes and think the lipstick was a subtle touch which worked well.

If you haven't already you certainly need to add a neon item to your wardrobe. I love this top and I am sure it will serve me well this summer and future summers to come.

Being a runner

Yesterday I did some work experience with The House of Seduction for their launch of their new collection so thought I would share my experience with you.
I was a bit worried before hand as I didn't exactly know what being a runner entailed - I was unsure whether I would get stressed out easily or not be able to work under pressure but to my suprise I managed to get through everything calmly and correctly.
Being a runner is amazing. Together with another runner named Katie and the organiser of the event Louise, we looked at each outfit carefully and then styled each model with an outfit that suited them but also allowed The House of Seduction collection to be showcased.
Working with models is quite a task. Some were fussy with what they wore and what they showed. Some refused to have their bottoms on show whilst others didn't care - one wore some nipple tassels we gave her  and looked amazing. She definately had more guts than me! We also chose the accessories that the models would carry. These varied from whips, paddles and feather fans and really complimented the lingerie set they were wearing.
The lingerie itself is definately worth a look at. It is a bit more up market so is more expensive than what you would normally pay for a set however they are very high quality and would definately go down a treat on valentines day! Satin corsets, silky bras, lace eye masks, stockings and suspenders were just a few of the items and whilst they were quite sexy they were also lovely to look at - you would definately feel good about yourself wearing them.
Once we had styled each outfit we then had to create a running order for the models to walk in. As they each had two outfits we had to prepare ourselves for the quick change in between. I initally thought this would be the hardest part of the evening but when we actually did it I am happy to say it all went smoothly and each model was ready in time for their second walk.
Setting up the venue was all fun. The show was held at The Fat Buddha in Newcastle which is an upmarket, classy chinese resteraunt. We had to make sure each table was supplied with goody bags, flyers, a centre piece and drinks. Sorting out the drinks was one of the few things that didn't work out as it should of, but once the bar was informed drinks were dispactched where they were supposed to be.

Being a runner was a great opportunity. It has made me realise that I am interested in events, especially those involving fashion and that I may want to persue it in the future. I do think for my first experience I was lucky that it ran so smoothly - but I do think that is because we worked hard to make sure everything went as it should. It wasn't an easy job but it was definately one I enjoyed.
